2025: A Year of Groundbreaking Flagship Events

The year 2025 marked a massive evolution for our community. We stepped away from standard conventions to produce fully immersive, large-scale experiences that celebrated art, music, gaming, and interactive storytelling. Here is a look at the major milestones we achieved through our past Geek Events in Mauritius:

1. The Star Wars Anniversary Musical Experience

To celebrate the legacy of Star Wars, we knew a simple watch party wouldn’t be enough. We hosted an unprecedented Musical Experience that transported our attendees straight into a galaxy far, far away. By combining a breathtaking live music performance with real-time, cutting-edge VJ’ing (Video Jockeying), we created a multi-sensory cinematic tribute. The synergy of the iconic orchestral scores with vibrant visual projections made this one of our most unforgettable nights.

 

2. The Gaming and Jazz Concert Exhibition

Video game music is a true art form, and we proved it with our spectacular Gaming and Jazz Concert. Serving as the centerpiece for a massive month-long game exhibition, this sophisticated event bridged the gap between hardcore gamers and classical music aficionados. Incredibly talented local jazz musicians took to the stage to perform reimagined, soulful renditions of legendary gaming soundtracks. It was a night of pure elegance and nostalgia.

 

3. Le Ruisseau Creole Treasure Hunt & Escape Game

 

We love bringing the thrill of digital gaming into the real world. For this flagship event, we took over the beautiful venue of Le Ruisseau Creole to host an interactive, large-scale Treasure Hunt and Escape Game. Teams of geeks had to race against the clock, decode complex puzzles, and work together in a fully themed environment. It was a massive success that tested the wits and teamwork of our amazing community.

 

4. The Spectacular “Geek-mas” Market

 

Wrapping up the year in December, we hosted our highly anticipated Geek-mas Market. This massive, Christmas-themed artisan market became the ultimate end-of-year celebration for the geek community. Attendees shopped for unique, handmade gifts from local artists, enjoyed festive treats, and celebrated the holidays with the We are Geekin’ family. It was the perfect blend of holiday cheer and pop-culture passion.

The Foundation: Our Beloved Board Game Nights

While our massive flagship events took the spotlight, the true heartbeat of our community relies on our regular meetups. Our Board Game Nights have been a resounding success, with more than 7 major sessions hosted to date.

These gatherings offer a relaxed, welcoming environment where veterans and newcomers alike can sit around a table, roll some dice, and forge genuine friendships. In a world dominated by screens, these tabletop sessions remind us of the simple joy of face-to-face connection.
